Step 0

Build your first root file

It's a 30-minute guided conversation with your Claude. By the end you have one root file, written in your voice, that loads every session of Claude Code from then on. The smallest version of what we build together in the cohorts.

Free. One email to confirm. Then a 7-day course (Start Your Root System) over five emails to deepen each section. Unsubscribe any time. Privacy.

Check your email.

I just sent you a one-click confirmation. Open it, click confirm, and the guided conversation lands in your inbox a moment later, with the 7-day course starting the next day.

If nothing shows up in five minutes, peek in spam. The sender is The Four Languages.

Who this is for

I tend to notice the same pattern from people who land here. Most of you have used Claude or ChatGPT a fair amount, sometimes a lot, and the conversations have been fine, some of them really useful, but none of them stuck around. The conversation ends and the value of it goes with it.

Most of you have also collected templates from people whose business looks nothing like yours, watched setup tutorials, thought about putting in the time to build something steadier, and then put that thought down because the next thing in your business was on fire. I get it. I was there too, for years.

If that's roughly the shape, this is the smallest version of what I do with people in the cohorts. It's free, you keep what we make, and there's no pressure on whatever comes next.

What you'll have at the end

By the end of the conversation you'll have one real file, sitting in a folder called Root-System on your computer. It loads every time you open Claude Code, which is the part that's actually different from a chat. Most people setting up AI for their work skip this step entirely, and that's why their AI never quite knows them.

Your root file
If you've explored Claude Code before, this is the CLAUDE.md we're building.

How you think, decide, work.

Who you serve, who you trust, how you connect.

Your rhythm, energy, capacity.

What you're here for, the deeper thing under the work.

Your file will read nothing like anyone else's. The first sentence you say in the conversation makes it yours.

The four languages

A whole person speaks four, and a system that holds all four can hold a whole business.

Mind

Your strategy, expertise, decision-making. Your frameworks, your knowledge systems, the way you approach complexity.

Mind

Heart

Your people, your relationships, your creative expression. Who you care about serving, the voice you write in, what moves you to do this work at all.

Heart

Body

Your capacity, energy, constraints. Your tools, your platforms, your physical setup. What you actually have and what you can actually do within your limits.

Body

Soul

Why you do this, what you believe, what you refuse. Your non-negotiables, the line you draw, the manifesto underneath the business.

Soul

From the cohort

"I just finished the onboarding and I am SO excited. This thing already has so many good ideas and a list of tasks for me. So powerful."

Jasz, the day she finished her root file

And another

"It's just like with humans. If you give it a good onboarding, it's gonna be good. The root file IS the onboarding."

Lavinia, three weeks into her root system

Your prompt is ready

It's also waiting in your inbox. Either way, copy this and paste it into your Claude. You're 30 minutes from your first root file.

The prompt

If you have Claude Code (app)

Open the app, paste, run. The folder gets created on your machine.

In your browser

Go to claude.ai/code, paste, run. Files create in the connected workspace.

On Claude.ai chat

Paste in any chat. Claude will write the file contents in copy-paste blocks for you to save manually.

What five women just built

Same root file at the start. Five completely different systems eight weeks later. Coaching practice, podcast, content engine, course platform, CRM. Theirs. Read the stories, then build yours.

More stories at client-stories. They keep building.

Build the whole system next

The root file is the seed. The summer is where the system grows around it.
